    The Creality CR-10 Smart and Creality CR-10 Smart Pro are one of the most popular 3D printers from the CR-10 series, with the latter featuring further enhancements and capabilities. Let’s highlight the defining features that make the Creality CR-10 Smart PRO superior to the CR-10 Smart 3D printer.

    Touch Screens

    Both Creality CR-10 Smart and Smart Pro feature a 4.3-inch touch screen. However, CR-10 Smart PRO offers high definition HD touch screen, while CR-10 Smart includes a simple touch screen. Therefore, CR-10 Smart PRO’s touch screen exhibits a better resolution, display, and responsiveness when compared with the CR-10 Smart 3D printer.

    Built-in Camera

    The Creality CR-10 Smart Pro boasts a built-in camera feature. This built-in camera helps the users in many ways, i.e., remote monitoring and a time-lapse video of 3D printing for social media. The built-in camera can also use artificial intelligence to notify the user about errors, print failures, warping, filament runout, etc. Conversely, the CR-10 Smart lacks a built-in camera feature. However, it is possible to add an extra camera to it.

    Filament Runout Sensor

    Another feature that the CR-10 Smart PRO offers is the filament runout sensor. The CR-10 Smart doesn’t offer this feature. The filament runout sensor is an essential feature that tells the 3D printer to temporarily pause or halt the 3D printing process if the filament stops coming from the spool. It also notifies the user to replace the spool with the new one so that it can resume the 3D printing process once again.

    Manual Bed Leveling Knobs

    Both CR-10 Smart and Smart Pro come with CR-touch auto-leveling sensors. However, sometimes auto-leveling sensors find it very hard when the print surface is glossy or metallic. It becomes a time-taking process before the 3D printing initiates.

    However, the CR-10 Smart Pro is one step ahead with manual bed leveling knobs. These knobs manually allow you to keep the print bed stable and at the required level. They are also easy to manage and accessible for an operator to perform the bed leveling operation for the first time or when changing the nozzle or bed level.

    Nozzle Temperatures

    The Creality CR-10 Smart Pro features an all-metal hotened that allows its nozzle to withstand a temperature of 300 C. On the other hand, the CR-10 Smart can withstand up to 260 C temperatures.
    At 300 C temperature, the CR-10 Smart Pro can also easily manage nylon and polycarbonate filaments which require temperatures above 260 C. Therefore, you have more 3D printing options for different kinds of materials with the CR-10 Smart Pro 3D printer.

    Print Bed Temperatures

    The Creality CR-10 Smart Pro features Polyetherimide (PEI) print bed, whereas; the CR-10 Smart features a glass plate with a carborundum coating print bed. The CR-10 Smart Pro can withstand a bed temperature of 100 C. On the other hand, the CR-10 Smart’s print bed can withstand a temperature of around 80 C. A higher bed temperature for a 3D printer means it can offer better adhesion and is more compatible with various 3D printing filaments. Therefore, the print bed of CR-10 Smart Pro allows more options in 3D printing outcomes.

    Different Extruders

    The Creality CR-10 Smart Pro features a dual-gear extruder that offers better filament grip, higher precision, and easier 3D printing for flexible filaments. The dual-gear extruder is ideal for 3D printing TPU and Ninja flex filaments. The CR-10 Smart has a single-gear extruder which will always be second best for filament grip, accuracy, and ease when comparing the dual-gear extruder.

    Sprite Hotend Assembly

    The CR-10 Smart Pro 3D printer features an upgraded sprite hotend assembly, which combines the extruder and hotend. It minimizes the distance between the filament & nozzle, improves the 3D printing quality, and reduces the risks of clogging or jamming. On the other hand, CR-10 Smart features a conventional hotend assembly with the pitfalls of clogging.

    Dual vs. Single Z-Axis Screws

    The Creality CR-10 Smart Pro boasts dual z-axis screws, while the CR-10 Smart includes a single z-axis screw. Dual z-axis screws minimize vibrations and support & balance the gantry during 3D printing. Consequently, you get high-quality, precise, and accurate 3D printing with dual z-axis screws of CR-10 Smart Pro. On the other hand, a single z-axis screw (CR-10 Smart) will compromise on quality and accuracy of 3D printing as it may tilt the gantry of 3D printers.
